Windells have stumbled upon a new action sports craze that is taking the East Coast and the Midwest by storm. It looks intense and we are wondering if we should introduce CCS into our summer routine. Keep your ears open to hear if CCS will hit Mt Hood this Summer.

Windells Open house was a smash hit. There must of been a total of 100 or more kids, parents, skaters, bikers, bladers and trampers to find out what Windells was all about. Kids went home with knowledge, Free Stickers and Discounts for the upcoming Camps. For the first few hours the weather was nice and the early go getters were able to take advantage of our outdoor campus including the Concrete Jungle and the Dirt Features. Soon enough, Oregon’s typical weather kicked in and we all spent the remainder of the day in BOB. Either way, we all had fun and hope to see everyone again up at Camp for our Open Skate and Bike Weekends which run pretty much every weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s.

Weekends at Windells Academy involve some of the “funnest” stuff you could imagine. This weekend, as well as all others, Windells opened campus to the public for open skate! Thats right, all of Windells campus including the dirt tracks, concrete jungle and B.O.B are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! This past weekend was crazy. Saturday had a huge outcome,even the Rockstar Energy Bus stopped by for a visit to help kids with bmx bikes. Trampoline, bikes, skateboards, and rollerblades galore! Over the past weekend at Windells Academy the crew from ride snowboards stopped in portland for a showing of their new video “along for the ride”. They are on a small tour for the video and portland was the second stop! Doors were at 6pm and the first 50 kids in line got tons of free prizes, someone even won a snowboard. Team riders, Nico Droz ad Corey Noble were there to sign autographs and show off their parts in the new film. After the premier Nico, Corey and Ride snowboards team manager Matt Sickels headed back to Windells Academy for a fun late night shred sesh in B.O.B! check it out.

This past weekend Seattle hosted the Downtown Throwdown. Pat Milbery, Johnny Lazz, Austin Hironaka, Austin Sweetin, and Nick Visconti were all there holding it down for Windells! When it was all said and done Mr. Visconti was presented with a cardboard IOU for 4 G’s for First place and Lazz took home and IOU for $750 and Fourth place.

This past summer, a film crew from MTV2 swung by to get some shots of Tom Wallisch for the Freeski edition of The Alli Show. The point of the show is to showcase Tom’s domination in the sport from Skiing, to School to Coaching at Windells in the Summer. You can watch Tom this Saturday, October 17th on MTV2 at 11pm Eastern time.

This past weekend at Windells, Roundhouse “King of BOB” opened the 12 thousand square foot indoor rec center for kids and adults from all over the region to come skate, tramp, bike, scoot, jump in the foam pit and just have FUN. Windells Team rider DB ended up swinging by and making this quick edit from the tramp. The word on the street is that he wants to take that DUB to the snow. Windells Academy has been getting a little creative with our “on snow” features in the past couple days. As you saw, on friday we hauled snow back from the mountain and had a rail session in the skate jungle. Yesterday we decided to take this idea a step further. We went up to mt. Hood, filled the roof rack with snow once again, but this time we had a specific set up in mind. We returned to campus and headed straight onto the dirt bike track. We grabbed an extra rail from storage and started grooming a drop in from one of the dirt bike landings. Realizing what we had just created, and the fact that there were bikers currently hitting the dirt jumps, we got ready to have one of the most fun sessions in Windells Academy history.
